Buying a property in Pune either for investment/First home has always been a challenge. Directly approaching the builders/Property dealers doesn''t give  you a true Rate/Valuation of the property in the Areas. So choosing the location and Property that suits once budget becomes difficult. Online search may not be always reliable because the ads are either posted by individuals/brokers/builders who are always interested to get more out of the customer.

To make the property search easier Banks like ICICI and HDFC have there own websites featuring properties ranging from Apartments/ Plots/ Villa along with property prices. Also most to the property featured on these sites have pre approved for Loan by these banks,

Diabetes Complications and controlling it

Complications linked to badly controlled diabetes:
Foot complications - neuropathy, ulcers, and sometimes gangrene which may require that the foot be amputated
Heart problems - such as ischemic heart disease, when the blood supply to the heart muscle is diminished
Hypertension - common in people with diabetes, which can raise the risk of kidney disease, eye problems, heart attack and stroke
Mental health - uncontrolled diabetes raises the risk of suffering from depression, anxiety and some other mental disorders
Skin complications - people with diabetes are more susceptible to skin infections and skin disorders
Hearing loss - diabetes patients have a higher risk of developing hearing problems
Eye complications - glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and some others.
Neuropathy - diabetic neuropathy is a type of nerve damage which can lead to several different problems.
Nephropathy - uncontrolled blood pressure can lead to kidney disease
PAD (peripheral arterial disease) - symptoms may include pain in the leg, tingling and sometimes problems walking properly
Stroke - if blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood glucose levels are not controlled, the risk of stroke increases significantly.
Gum disease - there is a much higher prevalence of gum disease among diabetes patients
Gastroparesis - the muscles of the stomach stop working properly
Ketoacidosis - a combination of ketosis and acidosis; accumulation of ketone bodies and acidity in the blood.
Erectile dysfunction - male impotence.
Infections - people with badly controlled diabetes are much more susceptible to infections
Healing of wounds - cuts and lesions take much longer to heal
HHNS (Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemic Nonketotic Syndrome) - blood glucose levels shoot up too high, and there are no ketones present in the blood or urine. It is an emergency condition.

Controlling Diabetes - Treatment is Effective and Important

All types of diabetes are treatable. Diabetes type 1 lasts a lifetime, there is no known cure. Type 2 usually lasts a lifetime, however, some people have managed, through a lot of exercise, diet and excellent body weight control to get rid of their symptoms without medication.

Patients with type 1 are treated with regular insulin injections, as well as a special diet and exercise.

Patients with Type 2 diabetes are usually treated with tablets, exercise and a special diet, but sometimes insulin injections are also required.

If diabetes is not adequately controlled the patient has a significantly higher risk of developing complications.

What is diabetes?

We are surrounded by people(Parents, relatives) who have been dealing with Diabetes, but just we are young we think we should not be bothered about it. But as we cross 30's its important we understand what it is and work to improve our lifestyle to prevent it.

What is diabetes?
Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. Patients with high blood sugar will typically experience frequent urination, they will become increasingly thirsty and hungry .

Types of Diabetes:
1) Type 1 Diabetes
The body does not produce insulin. Some people may refer to this type as insulin-dependent diabetes, juvenile diabetes, or early-onset diabetes. People usually develop type 1 diabetes before their 40th year, often in early adulthood or teenage years.

Type 1 diabetes is nowhere near as common as type 2 diabetes. Approximately 10% of all diabetes cases are type 1.Patients with type 1 diabetes will need to take insulin injections for the rest of their life. They must also ensure proper blood-glucose levels by carrying out regular blood tests and following a special diet.

2) Type 2 Diabetes
The body does not produce enough insulin for proper function, or the cells in the body do not react to insulin (insulin resistance).Approximately 90% of all cases of diabetes worldwide are of this type.
Some people may be able to control their type 2 diabetes symptoms by losing weight, following a healthy diet, doing plenty of exercise, and monitoring their blood glucose levels. However, type 2 diabetes is typically a progressive disease - it gradually gets worse - and the patient will probably end up have to take insulin, usually in tablet form.

Overweight and obese people have a much higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes compared to those with a healthy body weight. People with a lot of visceral fat, also known as central obesity, belly fat, or abdominal obesity, are especially at risk. Being overweight/obese causes the body to release chemicals that can destabilize the body's cardiovascular and metabolic systems.

The risk of developing type 2 diabetes is also greater as we get older. Experts are not completely sure why, but say that as we age we tend to put on weight and become less physically active. Those with a close relative who had/had type 2 diabetes, people of Middle Eastern, African, or South Asian descent also have a higher risk of developing the disease.

Different Tests for Diabetes:
A1C test
- 6.5% means diabetes
- 5.7% and 5.99% means prediabetes
- less than 5.7% means normal

The FPG (fasting plasma glucose) test
- at least 126 mg/dl means diabetes
- between 100 mg/dl and 125.99 mg/dl means prediabetes
- less than 100 mg/dl means normal

Post meal blood sugar test
- at least 200 mg/dl means diabetes
- between 140 and 180 mg/dl means prediabetes
- less than 140 mg/dl means normal

Bottomline:
Exercise, Improving Food habits, good sleep and having a stress free life is key to prevent such disease.

Developer's NOC not required for flat sale/transfer in Maharashtra

In a major relief to flat buyers and society residents, the state government has said that there is no need for a no-objection certificate from the developer for sale or transfer of flat (resale) in a fully constructed building. The state housing department has issued an official communication in this regard after coming across cases where developers illegally collected money from flat buyers for providing such NOCs.
The department claims to have received complaints stating that the developers had collected up to Rs 500 per sq ft in such cases of transfer. This means, for the sale or transfer of a 540 sq ft flat, buyers are forced to cough up an additional Rs 2.7 lakh or so. The department has said there was no requirement for NOC under norms mentioned in the Maharashtra Ownership of Flats Act (MOFA).
A housing department official said that MOFA norms requiring formation of the society and conveyance of the plot to the society within a stipulated time after completion are not being observed in a large number of cases. Recovery of illegal amounts in the name of NOC for sale or transfer of flats are being reported in several cases, the official added.
The department has also written to the inspector general of registration, S Chockalingam, asking him to ensure that officials in the registration department register sale documents without insisting on the NOC from developers. The department says it has received complaints where officials have refused to register the documents without the NOC.
The Cidco, which has leased out a number of properties in Navi Mumbai, has also been asked to ensure that developers of these plots comply with MOFA norms. The department has sought Cidco’s opinion on whether its permission was needed for transfer/sale of flats for plots leased by it. The department is of the opinion that the permission—insisted upon at present—is not required. The government has urged societies where developers haven’t conveyed plots within stipulated time to apply for deemed conveyance.

Pune: Generic Medicine Shop

Lokayat Vaidyakeeya Kendra on Law College Road is probably the only centre in Pune that makes it a point to sell only generic medicines. With over 70 different types of generic medicines, the centre provides relief against afflictions like cold, fever, throat infections, high blood pressure and diabetes, all at very low costs.

As highlighted on Satyamave Jayate show cost of generic medicines is very less compared to the cost of
branded medicines. Also there chemical compositions are the same, so if people in Pune need to cut there Medicines cost visit this Generic Medicine store.

I only hope that there will be  many more such stores in Pune and in every city and village of India to provide a relief on medicine cost for Indian people.

Pune: VAT mandatory for flats bought between 2006-10

Over four lakh flat owners in the state, who had bought properties between June 20, 2006 and March 31, 2010, may now have to pay Value Added Tax (VAT) to the state government. According to rough estimates, in Pune, there could be over 1.6 lakh flat owners who bought properties between June 2006 and March 2010.
The tax will be collected from the developers and builders, who would seek the money from the flat owners. For a flat that cost around Rs 10 lakh, VAT payable now could be between Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000, a developer said.   Developers said the state government has initiated steps to recover VAT from them. A trade circular issued by the Maharashtra sales tax commissioner on August 6 supports their claim.
The circular gives a background of the issue and states that, “Developers are liable to pay tax under Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002 with effect from June 20, 2006.” Developers’ associations in the state including Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) will file a plea in the Supreme Court seeking a temporary stay on the collection of VAT till the apex court decides.
A senior sales tax department official said that the tax will be collected from the developers and not the flat owners. “Developers have to get the registration from the sales tax department for collection of VAT before August 16,” he added. “If the clause about payment of VAT has been mentioned in the agreement between the flat owners and the builder/ developer, then the flat owners will have to pay,” the official said.
The state government had introduced VAT in 2002, but it came into force in June 2006. The Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry had challenged its applicability in 2007 in the Bombay high court. In its order on May 2012, the high court upheld the validity of the amendment in the Value Added Tax Act 2002, and the notification of a composite scheme for builders and developers.
The Promoters’ and Builders’ Association (CREDAI, now) had filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court against the high court order. While the petition has been admitted, no stay has been granted about collection of VAT from June 20, 2006. Since April 1, 2010, flat owners are paying VAT at the rate of one per cent of the cost of the flat to developers. Developers said that the computation of VAT on flats purchased between June 20, 2006 and March 31, 2010 would be based on variables such as cost of the land, construction and the like.

The Dark Knight Rises: Its awesome

Nolan Brothers took "The Dark Knight" to legendary heights. After giving such a movie everybody had greater expectations from the Last part to this legendary series. After watching the last part I must say that it has been meet and its a epic in its own way.

"The Dark Knight" was more dominated by the Joker character and remarkable performance of Heath Ledger. With Heath Ledger gone it was doubtful about the last part impact, its Villan and Batman character. This movie is all about Batman his character moves from a devastated person to a Superhero who overcomes his inability to fear death. Bane's character succeeds to induce fear and makes the theme "One who broke Batman's Back" come true. Catwoman, Alferd, Gordon, Blake and Fox all these characters create there lasting impression.

Plot of the movie is intricate and has all the elements of thriller, mystery, action, emotion that will bring the audience back to the theater to have a repeat watch. Its truly entertaining movie which takes the audience to a awesome coaster ride makes them cheer, whistle and keeps them on the edge of there seat. Background score of the movie is really great it keeps the audience engaged.

This movie should be watched at the best theater possibly (with IMAX tech) to  really enjoy it, Nolan brothers with there decision to not go 3D has really worked. Amazing spiderman was about CGI, while watching batman no where in the movie you a get a feel that your watching CGI effects and that's the greatness of the directors. Every scene of BatBike, Bat Flying machine and Bat car sends a wow in the audience.

After watching this movie Batman became a better Superhero than the New amazing spiderman for us. Myself, my wife and kid all had the same opinion that we need to have a repeat watch(treat)
to satisfy our craving for great entertainment. Its really a satisfying end to the gr8 Legend.

Hats Off Nolan Brothers and If you love movies Don't miss the treat.

KFC Chicken Recipe: better than KFC

Ingredients:

2 cups flour

2 tablespoons salt

2 tablespoons pepper

4 tablespoons paprika

1 teaspoon garlic salt

1 tablespoon dry mustard

1 tablespoon French thyme, ground

1 tablespoon dried sweet basil, ground

1 teaspoon oregano, ground

1 tablespoon Jamaica ginger, ground (regular ground ginger will work too)

2 cups buttermilk

2 2 ½- 3 lb. chickens, cut into 8 pieces each

Vegetable oil for frying (canola and peanut oil work too)

Directions:

Mix dry ingredients in large bowl. Set aside.

Put chicken and buttermilk in two large plastic Ziploc bags or a flat dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least two hours, turning every 30 minutes. This tenderizes the meat as well as removes any blood.

When ready to cook, remove chicken pieces from buttermilk, shake off excess liquid. Toss with dry ingredients. The chicken should be lightly covered, but it's okay if there are a few missed spots. You can also shake chicken with the dry ingredients in a large Ziploc bag.

Fill a large, heavy bottomed skillet or deep pot with enough oil to cover halfway up the largest piece of chicken. Heat oil to 325-350 degrees. If you don't have a cooking thermometer, wait for small bubbles to form.

Adjust heat so the oil bubbles are steady but not too rapid. Working in two or more batches, place the coated chicken in the hot oil. After about eight minutes, the chicken will be golden brown underneath. Turn over once and cook for an additional eight minutes or until nicely browned on both sides. The cooking process will agitate the pieces slightly, so you don't need to shift them around in the pan.

After frying, place chicken on a metal sheet tray covered in a paper towel and transfer to 200-degree oven to keep warm until serving. The chicken will stay moist for up to an hour.

Amazing Spiderman: Review

Amazing Spiderman is not that amazing, the film may be tempting to Youth but not the kids. I belive that the superheros are prefered by the people based on the Age group. Spiderman fits kids, Batman to the youth and adult, Superman again to kids and youth. With this movie Spiderman has changed its Age group to  Batman line i.e. Youth and Adult.
It misses the innocence of Spidey character and fails to portray Peter as a neighborhood average boy. Even the charm of Uncle Ben and Aunt May was not impressive in the movie. Peter relationship with his grandparents has not been established the way it was done in the previous version.
The Villan reminds me more of Dinosaur roaming in the Spiderman world then Lizzard Man. Lizzard Man is very scary for the kids to watch and scares away the fun of the movie. Special effects might be at its best but the presentation of Action sequences has not been that gr8.

Even the one of the greatest Spiderman fan(Gajanan) didn't like it, he prefers Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire Spidey. Gajanan wants to watch "The Avengers" and old Spiderman's repeat then the new Spiderman.

Just watch it because you always loved Spiderman, whether its suits your flavor or not.

3D TV

Visit to any electronic shop TV section and not checking the latest 3D tv is just not possible. With every other movie coming out in 3D from Hollywood to Bollywood 3D has become a buzz.
So is it the time to buy 3D TV,lets ponder on these points

3D TV technology:
If you watched the 3D movies in theater maybe 10-15 years back 3D tech works on the same principle still now. Video filmed by two separate cameras with slight different angle are projected onto the screen and audience wears the glasses that make sure that right and left eye sees the corresponding images.3D TVs work on the same principle with two different types of TV's in market
   1. Active 3D:
In this case the Glasses have the shutter mechanism to make the right and left eye see the
corresponding frames. 3D glasses are heavy and expensive( Rs 3000), you need to get used to
them. However the Active 3D TV is less expensive as compared to Passive 3D. Now-days
companies are manufacturing less heavy and comfortable 3D Glasses.
   2. Passive 3D:
TV itself has all the mechanism and hence the polarized glasses are very comfortable and quite
cheap( rs 100 to 800). Now-days Passive 3D TVs are most popular, however they tend to be
expensive as compared to Active. Here is comparison between these two
   1. Passive glasses are easier to use and wear, also cheaper.
   2. Active glasses flicker, this might be irritating and gives headache sometimes.
   3. Passive 3D result in lower resolution as compared to Active 3D.
   4. Active 3D tv requires good refresh rates hence Plasma with Active 3D is best, otherwise for
       LCD/LED go for Passive 3D.
   5. Experts says Active 3D is better quality images then passive 3D apart from the glass issue, but I
       didn't notice any major difference.

3D Content:
Now-days all the major Hollywood movies come out in 3D and they are really treat for your eyes. Bollywood too has focused its attention on 3D. As far as 3D TV channels are concerned there are no 3D TV channels in India apart form the TEST 3D Channel on Videocon D2H which has almost useless programming and 3D quality. If you decide to buy 3D Blue-ray that could be pretty heavy(Rs 1200 min) on your pocket, so finally there is nothing left that you can watch on your 3D TV.
Don't worry there is option get a 3D TV which can play DIVX or other movie types from a USB device, so you can download a loads of 3D movies/ other stuff from internet and watch.YouTube also host lot of 3D videos, also sites like "thepiratebay" have 3D movies which you can watch.

Theater like experience:
Watching 3D movies in theater is a different experience than watching it on your 3D TV. Theater screen size is a huge plus point as the 3D pop out effect directly depends on it, so remember 3D pop-out will depend on your TV size. Now days 3D movies focus more on making the user feel as if he is watching through a window i.e depth rather than all the things popping out. IF you seen Avaatar there is hardly any seen that has a pop out effect, throughout the movie you feel the depth and window effect. So 3D depth again depends on screen size and is limited to size of 3D TV. If  you rate the Theater experience of 3D has 100, Home 3D TV experience can range between 80-60% depending upon size of TV.

Bottom-line:
3D TV is new tech and it will take its time to mature, so if you planning to buy a new LED/PLASMA TV and if you can go for 3D feature without being heavy on your pocket go for it.

Notes:
1. Animation in 3D always looks gr8, do check some non animated content on 3D TV before buying.
2. Make sure your 3D TV can play USB 3D Content and get  yourself a highs peed (at-least 1mbps) unlimited internet connection so that you can get lot of good 3D content without spending heavily for it.
3. 3D doesn't mean just POP-OUT effect, it nowadays means having the experience of depth and watching through a window.
4. Demo clips that you watch on 3D TV displayed in showroom have excessive pop-outs and depth experience hence don't get disappointed if you don't feel the same while watching a 3D movie or regular 3D content.
5. 2D-3D conversion is useless stuff simply ignore it.
6. LG Cinema 3D is really good, also Samsung, Panasonic and sony also have some good 3D tv models which can be a good option.

PLASMA V/s LED v/S LCD TV

CRT TV are done now and they have been a faithful companion till now. The day when I decided
to go for a new TV I had options of Plasma, LED and LCD. I did a plenty of research online
for the options that I should go for. I thought its better to summarize this information
in the way which will be helpful for a consumer like me for simplifying his decision process.

TECHNOLOGY:
Plasma TV: Plasma technology consists of hundreds of thousands of individual pixel cells, which allow electric pulses (stemming from electrodes) to excite rare natural gases-usually xenon and neon-causing them to glow and produce light.
LCD: A matrix of thin-film transistors (TFTs) supplies voltage to liquid-crystal-filled cells. For LCD HDTVs, however, the liquid crystal screen does not illuminate, requiring a separate light source.
For LCD its achieved using cold cathode fluorescent lights (CCFLs) to illuminate the screen.
LED:
LED is one step ahead of LCD with same tech instead of CCFL it uses LED back lighting.

CONTRAST/BLACK LEVEL                            Winner: Plasma
Plasma:
To achieve full black level Plasma has to just turn off the pixel which results in very  high contract
rations and best black levels, some manufactures claim 30,00,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
LCD:
LCD tv has to spend maximum power to turn its pixel blacks thus lagging behind in achieving the required
black levels/contrast ratios. The best in bredd LCD claim only 1,00,000:1 dynamic contrast ratios.
LED:
LED has made improvements achieving DCR 9,000,000:1 over LCD but still lags behind Plasma

BRIGHTNESS:                                                  Winner: LED
LED due to its extra LED Back light helps to achieve High brightness as compared to Plasma and LCD.
Plasma has better Brightness as compared to LCD.

COLOR ACCURACY:                                       Winner: Plasma
Plasma TV color richness and naturalness will prevail in rooms with lower to normal lighting - yielding a more realistic picture. LED LCD TVs perform better in very brightly lit rooms due to their inherent anti glare technology and brightness.
Check all the three TVS side by side with same video being played LED makes first impression, but if
you just give a thought that you will be watching this picture at least 1-5 hours a day the extra bright
colors may give irritation to your eyes. Plasma give more soothing TV experience with Natural colors, however LED colors are more artificial and extra bright.

VIEWING ANGLE:                                             Winner: Plasma
Plasma achieves 180 degree of viewing angle easily, LCD and LED have around max 120.

COMPUTER USE:                                              Winner: LCD
Earlier Plasma TV  had burn in problems, as computer have more static images it was not recommended
to user Plasma Monitors. But now days Plasma TV no longer have burn in issues, however LCD scores
top as Computer use over LED and Plasma.

FAST MOVING VIDEO:                                    Winner: Plasma
Plasma manufactures publish 600hz refresh rate and that of LED/LCD is between 120-240Hz. If you
check out any sports on all the TV's side by side, Plasma will give you the best experience.

SCREEN GLARE:                                               Winner: LED
Plasma TV is more suitable for normal lighting, incase of bright light room LED/LCD is better

 LIFE:                                                                    Winner:  ALL
Earlier LCD/LED Tvs where considered having long life, but now days with advance in Plasma technology
all the types have similar life.

SCREEN BURN IN:                                            Winner: LCD/LED TV

3D:
With 3D tech Plasma has certain advantages such as High Refresh rate, Natural colors and Big screen
sizes. LED TV also has certain advantages like Brightness that is important for 3D.

Final verdict
Plasma TV with new modern Tech is the clear winner with comparison to LED TV.
LCD TV i think should be ignored totally.
1 Plasma
2 LED
3 LCD

Before making a choice few points to ponder
1. High Brightness of LED TV might be good for TV experience perspective, but it might turn harmful
for your eyes if you have a small size room as its like looking into a direct source of Light.
2. Check the LED and Plasma TV side by side and think from a perspective that you will be watching
the TV for at least 1-3 hours and then choose.
3. Panasonic manufactures the best Plasma, but now days LG also has very good Plasma TVs. For LED
TV  Sony, Samsung and LG brands are popular.
4. Plasma TV are hard to find in Display in many showrooms as they are less costly and hence have less
margin for the Sales. If you specifically ask the Salesman he might say its old tech and go for LED
remember he is trying to sell a more costly product to make more profits. This is insider info.

Good Luck Cafe

Pune is famous for vegetarians and Veg food, so people like me who love non veg food have a hard time
finding a good non veg restaurant in pune. But this all has changed with my visit to Good luck Cafe
located on FC Road, this place has really good non veg food.

Place:
This is a legendary place has been in existence from 1935. Its famous for its Breakfast items
and Non veg food. It also host a variety of veg food as well.

This place gives a feel of Old times and reminds of a culture were people with there friends and families gather together in restaurant to have good time and fun. Usually if you visit this restaurant during Lunch and Dinner time you will find a lot of Young, Old, Couples and families waiting outside to get seated. Its usually crowded and its quiet possible that you might end up waiting from 10-30 mins
and let me tell you its worth the wait.

Location:
Its a legendary place and is a landmark. Its located at Good Luck Chowk at F C road near the
Deccan corner end.

Food:
It has wide variety of Non veg items like Chicken, Mutton and Kheema dishes including starters(Tandoor, Chinese), soups and Rice preparations. It serves variety of breads like Tandoor Rot's, Chapatti, Nan and also Roomali Roti. Veg people don't worry it has good variety of Veg menu and I have heard its also good.

If you ask me whats my recommendation then I have a fix preference Kheema mutton Fry, Tangdi Kebab, Mutton Cutlet curry, Tandoori chicken and any Mutton dish in the menu. You can try any dish and its going to be good, but do try the Kheema mutton Fry its awesome. In the menu they have separate section for Tawa dishes and they are good too.

Tandoori items like Tangdi kebab and Tandoori chicken is must try. Also probably on weekends evenings
they have roll counter, its also a good options.

Biryani here is average, its not a Dum style Biryani which I prefer personally.

If you want to give a try to there Breakfast menu then do try Bun mask, Bun omelette's, fried eggs to the most soft and fluffy scrambled eggs on toast and Tea, its awesome.

Price:
I think this is the only place in Pune left that serves good food at very reasonable price and that is
what makes it happening. A full lunch/dinner for two folks with starter and Main dish, Roti, rice will
cost around 300-400.

Note:
1. Make sure that you inform the waiter about your spice level very well or inquiry with him the
kind of spice level in the dish before ordering. Here normal spice may be a bit on sweeter side and
Too spicy will really give a kick and make a kolhapuri cry, its better to tell him medium spicy.

2. Quantity of Food here in main dishes is quiet good and one dish will defiantly serve 2-3 people, so
if your two, don't order more then 1 main dish.

3. Before waiting make sure you have informed the person who notes the number and he has taken a good
note of it. Also if possible wait near the entrance so that you are visible to the Person and he takes you in
   just at the right time.

Seafood Restaurant: Kokan Express, kothrud

Kokan Express is authentic Kokani food delight located in Kothrud Pune. It just located opposite side of Kothrud Stand and its a kind of Medium size restaurant. It has both AC and non AC option and is good place for family as well as bachelor dining.

Food:
Its serves good Kokani Food with delicacies made of Fish, Crab, Prawns, Tisyra(Mussels) and Prawns. You can order a wide variety of Fish such as Pompfret, Surmai, Bombay Duck. If you are newbei or alone  just go ahead and order any of the Fish, Crab, Prawns, Tisyra(Mussels) and Prawns thalis that cost around 160 rs. Thalis in this restaruant are awesome with curry, Fried Fish roti/vade/chapati/bhakari options, rice and along with Solakadi. In Fish and Prawns thali the curry is bit spicy, but i recommend you order the just the crab curry(only curry) separately its must try.
There are different options of Kokani bread such as Vade\Rice Bhakari\Jawar Bhakari. Fish Fry is available in different styles such as Rava, Masala, etc.

Do order the Solakadi here its must try.
If your two people you can order one single thali and additional rice/rotis, single thali is sufficient for two. Even you can order two different variety of thalis to expand your taste range.

If your buddies are vegetarian there are plenty veg options. Also there is variety of Chicken/Mutton Dish, but seafood is the best.

Cost:
Thali costs around 160
Meal for two should cost around 300-450.

Passport office: Appointment and standing in Line

If you have to visit passport office pune, then standing in line and getting to the window can be tiresome process. Normally the passport office opens at 10.00 am and the queue of people goes more then 300-400. Even though they have started giving online appointments everybody gets the timing of 10.00 am by default. So you will still have to stand in line patiently waiting for your turn, the online appointment only give you a slot for the day and doesn't give any timing slot.

Recently I had to visit passport office for Passport renewal 3 times and here is what my experience says.

1. If you want your work to be done before 11.00 am, make sure you go and stand in line around 7.30 to 8.00 am still your number would be somewhere between 40 -50.
2. Though there are 350+ people waiting outside, make a note that they all have different works(renewal, fresh passport, minor, etc) and hence they will go to different windows inside the office.
So the queue outside office gets cleared by 11.00. So if you visit passport office at 11.00 you will directly get entry inside the office and though you might spend waiting 1/2 hour or max 1 hour at the window line, so its really worth.
3. Tatkal processing and normal processing happens at the same windows.
4. In the line outside the office you will encounter a person who will verify your appointment date on form and based on kind of service you require will assign the window. Inside the office you wait at the respective window.
5. If you already have submitted your application for processing and have a inquiry, go to inquiry line which is separate at the inquiry window along with your payment receipt. They will issue you a form and then you can go inside the office if required.
6. If you cant make at appointment day, simply take another appointment, nobody cares whether you come at appointment day or not. So no penalties, nobody cares.

Bottomline:
Visit the office at 11.00 you will directly get entry inside the office and though you might spend waiting 1/2 hour or max 1 hour at the window line, so its really worth.
You will avoid waiting in the queue for 2-3 hours.

Do comment on your experiences.

Tatkal Renewal of passport without Verification letter

I was ready with online application for Renewal of passport in regular scheme, but for visa stamping I was asked by my company to get the passport renewed within 10 days. So I decided to go for Tatkal Scheme.

http://passport.gov.in/cpv/TatkalScheme.htm

Tatkal passport scheme has to options listed on there website
1. Get Verfication letter i.e  ANNEXURE ‘F’ and standard affidavit as Annexure “I”
2. From fourteen documents listed provide the three (No longer valid)

As I had difficulty in getting Verification Letter, I decided to go for 2nd option. Even though this option is listed on website it is no longer valid and cannot be used. I will check this with passport office and update.

Getting verification letter in time was a problem, So I went to a Agent(I strictly don't promote use of agents, but life never goes by ur plans). Agent charged me 6500(including passport fees) and with few documents like
        1. Two electricity bills
        2. One year bank statement
        3. Marriage certificate to include wife name
        4. Degree certificate
        5. Affidavit (Annexure I)

I was able to submit the Tatkal renewal application, no questions asked on the verification window just got all things cleared in one minute.

Bottom-line:
1. Verification letter can be obtained from Banking officials, Class 1 officers if you know them personally or through a person who knows them.
2. Go for Normal processing without agent its very easy process.
3. Last, if you really need the passport urgently and no option of Verification letter go to the agent, list of authorized agents http://passport.gov.in/pune.html#talist.

Comment me if u need agent number whom I went with.

Edit or Change online passport application

For renewal of my passport I submitted the Online application and got a printout of it. Looking at the printout I realized that there was a mistake in application, so I wanted to find out how to edit/change/cancel the online application. I was not able to locate any answer/solution for it.

This is what I found out:
1. Just forgot about your current online application and appointment time and date.
2. Submit a new online application and take a new appointment.

Now in my case I submitted the online application after corrections again and visited the passport office at the appointment time(10 am). But I was surprised to learn that everybody gets appointment timing of 10 am for the day and applications are entertained based on your number in the queue. So seeing 300 people ahead of me, I just call a quit and went to office.

Now I resubmitted it 3rd time and got a new appointment.

Bottomline:
1. Don't worry and go ahead submit your online application again if you feel earlier was incorrect.
2. If you cannot make to passport office at the give appointment just don't worry take a new appointment, nobody cares.
