It was December 1st week I realized that Holidays are almost near and I haven't planned any thing for the Holidays. Kids had two week vacation and I had Vacation Leaves which were about to expire so going somewhere for Holidays was must and with almost last minute everything from Air Tickets and popular vacation Places where super expensive. Last time I had done a 9 day road trip, so I decided to go for another Road trip with my own Car(Hyundai Elantra) and I booked Hotels using Expedia to ensure that if it doesn't work out I will cancel it. Here is itinerary and others details that I followed...
Day1: Seattle to Reno(705 miles, Good drive with Snow patch in Mountains)
Early morning started from Seattle at 5.00 am and drove non stop to Portland around 3 hours. First stop was Voodoo Doughnuts a Famous place in Portland for Doughnuts.

Next we had quick breakfast at MacDonald and Lunch stop at Subway on the way and drove towards Reno. Being December we had to drive through a Snow patch(2-3 miles) in Mountains which was risky and super slow, though I was carrying snow chains didn't need them. Also we took 2-3 small breaks on the way and reached Reno around 8.00 pm.
My family loves Chinese cuisine and we had a really good dinner at Two Guys from Hong Kong

Finally we checked in at Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno around 9.30pm.
Day2: Reno to South Lake Tahoe and back (120 Miles, Pleasant drive)
After Breakfast we drove from Reno to South lake Tahoe with first stop at Logan Shoals Vista Point which had a good view of the Lake. Next stop within few minutes drive was Cave Rock state point this again had good view of the Lake and the surrounding Snow Mountains, including the view of the Cave Rocks.
Originally we had planned to go to the Heavenly Gondola for a trip to the Top of Mountains but its was Cloudy so I was skeptical. On the way we noticed the Snow activities just beside the Harrah's Lake Tahoe resort and enjoyed the Snowmobiling and Snow tubing activities.
After around 2.5 hours of fun Snow activities we decide to drive back to Reno to our Resort. The entire drive was pleasant around 80 minuets each way from Reno to South Lake Tahoe and back.
Day3: Reno to Pahrump nevada(394 miles, Pleasant Drive)
We started in the morning towards our next destination Death Valley Nation park, our Hotel was booked in Holiday Inn Express at Pahrump Nevada.
This drive was beautiful we took multiple breaks on the way including a stop at Walker Lake
Originally I had planned take a stop at Area 51 alien center and explore if I could drive towards Area 51 taking the dirt road, but when I spoke with the lady at the Center I realized it could be hard drive especially something you should not try with family and kids. So I dropped it and drove directly to the destination reaching the Hotel around 7 pm.
Day4: Death Valley National Park and drive towards Valencia Six Flags (308 miles)
We drove from Hotel to Death Valley making our First stop at Dante's View with a great view of the Valley and Badwater Basin. Next stop was Zabriskie Point with unique Landscape of the valley and also we did a small trek in the valley.
Later stops were at Devil's Golf Course and Badwater basin, Badwater basin was few miles walk to the center of the Basin so it took more time than planned. On the way back we took the Artist Drive with amazing views of Artists Palette.
Though we had planned for few other points due to early sunset we didn't had the opportunity and decided to drive towards Carlsbad our next destination. It was already dark so the drive out of the valley with curves and steep inclined roads was one of the hardest and stressful drive. We reached our Hotel Hilton Garden Inn Valencia Six Flags around 9 pm.
Day5: Six Flags Adventure
Six Flags was long due on my list of Adventure so over next two days we enjoyed all the Thrill and Fun rides at Six Flag. As it was Christmas and Year end celebration going on Six Flags had Lighting, Music and other Special activities going on in the Park. Kids had lots of fun too enjoying the rides in the Kids and Family section and all the other activities going on in the Park.
